Satyam Brown and Chandrika Gibson are the co-founders of Surya Health.
Satyam is a qualified Social Worker and holds a Masters in Counselling. After spending many years working in government and nongovernment agencies supporting youth and families at risk he now specialises in the psycho-social care of people who are affected by cancer, palliative counselling and stress and anxiety management. Satyam sees clients on behalf of the Cancer Council WA, counsels in a palliative care unit and sees private clients in Joondalup. He is also a qualified lecturer, group facilitator and runs 8 week Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) and Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT) courses both for the cancer council and general public through The Yoga Space.
Chandrika is a Naturopath, Yoga Teacher and Mind Body Therapist. She is a member of Australian Natural Therapists Association and the Yoga Teachers Association of Australia. Chandrika will complete a Master of Wellness in 2012.She is available for healthconsultations and teaches many of the Yoga classes at Surya Health. She presents lectures and guest presentations for a number of colleges and training organisations on topics including nutrition, anatomy & physiology, naturopathic philosophy, yogic physiology and yoga therapy. Chandrika has a special interest in women’s health, pregnancy, breastfeeding and children’s health.
Chandrika and Satyam are raising two boys and various pets together on their sustainable property north of Perth. They enjoy the challenges of parenting, practising yoga and meditation and supporting others in their quest for health and happiness.
